2009 Green Race Results
Oct 7th, 2009 by admin

First of all, thanks to Chris Bell at boatingbeta.com for his continued support over the years and his great database of results. Not to mention his flows website which has obviously taken a lot of work to maintain and build over the years. The 2009 Green Race is now complete-congratulations to all those who came out and posted their time.
Records were broken and dreams were crushed.
Green Race 2010: Saturday, November 6th, 12:00 PM.

Post Green Race Interview with Adriene Levknecht
Nov 30th, 2009 by admin

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Here is our final interview covering the 14th Annual Green Race, some two weeks late, with Adriene Levknecht. Apologies for taking so long we were slammed getting LVM #32 “Glory Seeking $#@! Runner” shipping, and our holiday specials on the store.
DETAILS HERE.
Adriene was the female champ in the 2009 Green River Race and in the process of getting first place she shattered records on the course. The first female to go under five minutes (4:59) in the 14 year history of the Green Race, this little lady is a pleasure to watch both on and off the river! Enjoy.

The Green Race would like to thank…
Nov 11th, 2009 by admin

Astral

Astral has supported the Green Race for a long time and this year donated a lifejacket to be awarded to the best green race swim. Mike “Mexico” Metzger took the gold. We’re glad you’re ok Mexico!

Watershed

Thanks to Watershed Drybags for their continued support for the Green Race and for making the best drybags around.

NOC

The Nantahala Outdoor Center has long supported the Green Race as well as kayaking all over the southeast US. Thanks for your continued support and way to raise ‘em strong!

Werner

This year’s race was graced with many golden strokes. Here’s some favorites. Congrats to all the golden strokers out there and thanks to Werner for their continued support of grass roots kayaking!

Teva

Thanks to Teva for providing radios to make life easier for our time keepers and their continued support for the Green Race.

Pyranha

Pyranha donated skirts to the racers and is always down to support this awesome grass roots event. They even had top minority representation this year, Old Guy’s, C1’s, and Ferners’!

LiquidLogic

Woody once again graciously hosted hundreds of rowdy kayakers at his place for some apres-kayak activities. Complete with band and late night Red Bull DJ, this was one of the best parties we’ve been to in a long time/ever. Thanks LL and Woody.

Green Race Podcast #3
Oct 28th, 2009 by admin

Podcast #3: Pat Keller shares some thoughts on the Green Race and who’s looking fast. Scott McClesky makes a surprise visit to the studio and talks trash about the C1’s, and most importantly, Woody chimes in with some info for spectators, racers, party goers, and something about a STINGER? What’s that? Take a listen…

This week, we start off with the usual trashtalking, spurred by a surprise visit by Scott McCluskey. Then, Woody spills the beans on the new Remix STINGER, Shane’s new baby. Ends with some notes on safety, spectator parking, and party info. Ya’ll come out no, yahear?

This week we speak on the phone with Sam England, who’s returning for his 3rd Green Race, racing both long and short boats. Sam had a rough line at Gorilla two years ago but didn’t let that stop him from coming back. Hear why Sam likes the race and can’t stay away.
